Running, jumping and throwing is the foundation of an active life and NTSA is honored to be an official RunJumpThrow organizer for our region.

USA Track & Field and Hershey teamed up to create RunJumpThrow (RJT), a hands-on learning program that gets kids excited about physical activity by introducing them to the basic running, jumping and throwing skills through track and field.

The RJT is a free event and the  plan offers a selection of twenty learning stations for participants to choose from, including:

    • balance moves
    • running form and technique
    • jumping form and technique
    • throwing mechanics
    • moves you can use to get faster/stronger

The program culminates with a non-competitive track meet where kids can apply new skills and celebrate their achievements.

Why Track and Field?

The most foundational of all sports, track & field is based on the three basic forms of human movement – running, jumping and throwing. Within the sport, there is an event for everyone, regardless of race, gender, size, shape or ability. Just as important, the sport is inexpensive and accessible to everyone – all you need is a pair of shoes. A race, a throwing competition or a jumping contest can happen anywhere!
